BAG will reimburse the costs on parking in secure car parks

This year The Federal Office for Freight Transport (BAG) will start financing a large part of the high cost of parking trucks on secure car parks in Germany. Currently at stake are 20 such facilities.

As part of de minimis aid throughout 2018 BAG will finance up to 80% of expenses of transport companies, whose trucks weighting more than 7.5 tonnes are parked in safe places. We are talking about fenced car parks equipped with cameras at the entrance and exit, well-lit with sanitary facilities, which can be reached on foot.

The companies can submit expenses for such car parks, under the condition that the sum of the individual amounts in the financial period reaches at least 125 euros net.

The new subsidy is limited to 2 thousand euro per truck and 33 thousand euro per company a year.
More secure car parks in 2018.

In German many car parks meet the BAG requirements, for example Autohof Wörnitz by A7 in Bavaria and Rasthof Uhrslebe by A2 in Saxony-Anhalt.

As announced by the German Association of Highway Inns (VEDA), there are 20 high standard car parks in the whole country which are accepted by BAG. In 2018 there will be 10 more.
