Gruppo Smet renews its fleet with 100 new HVO-powered IVECO S-WAY
IVECO will supply Italian transport and logistics operator Gruppo Smet with 100 new IVECO S-Way Fuel Hero trucks fuelled with HVO, which will be delivered during the year. The vehicles will be used in transport and logistics activities across the country.
The one hundred 490-hp IVECO S-Way Fuel Hero on order are two-axle trucks featuring a Cursor 13 eVGT engine and 12-speed Hi-Tronix transmission.
The vehicles have been designed to maximise fuel economy to deliver up to 8% fuel savings, providing the ideal solution for long-haul sustainability. In addition, IVECO S-Way diesel trucks are 100% compatible with HVO (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil), a high-quality biofuel produced from vegetable oils and waste, which can be used in pure form in all the latest diesel engines for greener transport.
This order is the latest in the long-term partnership between IVECO and Gruppo Smet, which share a forward-looking approach and focus on innovation, and put sustainability at the core of their strategy.
With the new IVECO S-Way Fuel Hero – a flagship in sustainability through the use of HVO and high efficiency in long-haulage – the two partners are contributing to the advancement of decarbonisation of the transport industry, IVECO stated.
