The construction of the most modern distribution center of the HAVI group begins
The construction of the most modern distribution center within the HAVI group begins. The new distribution center in Velika Gorica will cover an area of 8,300sqm, and the HAVI company has entrusted the process of location selection and tendering the developer to the global and regional real estate consultancy leader – CBRE.
From the new distribution centre, HAVI, a global company focused on innovation, optimization and supply chain management of Croatian and Slovenian leading brands which include companies like McDonald’s, for its clients will ensure the highest standards in the industry.
– The new investment will enable us to support business growth and to provide existing and future clients with services at the highest level, in accordance with the principles of sustainability, which are one of HAVI’s priorities – said Bojan Žganec, managing director of HAVI for Croatia and Slovenia.
– We are proud to have provided full support to one more client during the entire process, from finding a location to tendering the developer, as well as negotiating the terms of cooperation, thus providing the client with a simple and safe process. The logistics real estate sector in Croatia has achieved significant growth in terms of the quality of the space itself, and this is a continuation of the record activities recorded during the previous year, and in the future, we foresee a continuation of this trend – said Boško Tomašević, Managing Director for Southeast Europe at CBRE.
The new distribution center will be built by the LogExpert according to the ‘build-to-suit’ model within the Meridian 16 industrial park, using the latest technologies in the construction of warehouse spaces and in accordance with sustainability standards. The storage space itself will have three temperature regimes. Part of the electricity needs will be provided by solar panels, and in order to further increase the facility’s energy efficiency, the center will use the excess heat generated as a result of cooling the storage area to heat the facility’s office space.
The process of selecting the location for the new distribution center began more than a year ago, and CBRE was selected as a partner in that project.
– As with all projects that are built according to predetermined technical specifications by the clients, there are many elements that need to be agreed in advance in order for the space itself to be built exactly according to the tenant’s requirements. Although this process takes longer, we believe that it is ideal to approach the development of new logistics facilities in this way in order to ensure that all technical specifications are in accordance with the needs of clients – said Sonja Lončarević, Associate Director, A&T Industrial & Logistics, in CBRE, leading this transaction.
