Call for the Application for the CEE Logistics and Supply Chain Management Award

Creating and strengthening international business relations for nine years now, the annual business forum for transportation, logistics and supply chain management professionals will be organised again in November, in Budapest.

Besides trending topics around digitalization and labour shortage, the event’s program will also focus on smart warehouse automatization, new technologies & robots, the future of the automotive supply chain, and how to enhance the visibility and forecasting with IoT which are essential for companies in order to stand out from the competition.

Every year, the Congress accommodates the award ceremony of the Central and Eastern European Logistics and Supply Chain Management Excellence Award where the winners receive honourable recognition by the industry.

Start-ups, small, medium and large size organizations, manufacturers, retailers and solution providers are all welcome to apply with a project that has been implemented in one of the countries within the CEE region. The application should contain a description of the innovative method or technique, the aim of theproject, the stages of development and implementation, and the achieved results together with an executive summary.

The jury – consisting of international experts like Prof. Dr Sebastian Kummer, Head of Institute Transport & Logistics Management Vienna University Economics and Business, Roland Straub, Country Supply Chain Director of Coca-Cola HBC Hungary, Adina Banescu, Head of International Logistics at Tesy and Roman Zorman, Regional Logistics Director of Studio Moderna evaluates the applications based on the level of innovation, flexibility, sustainability, cost-effectiveness and customer value-contribution promoting a contribution to the dynamic development of the CEE region from a logistics, transportation and supply chain management perspective.

On the first day of the regional event, on the 13th of November, the awarded solutions will be announced and crowned with international recognition. Both category winners will have the unique chance to put their most outstanding products, services or best practices in the spotlight, by presenting their projects to an audience of over 500+ logistics and supply chain management professionals and senior decision makers from over 20 countries, aiming to raise their visibility on the professional horizon. The organiser – TEG The Events Group – is supporting the winning projects with additional PR activities via more than 30 local and international media partners as well as associations highlighting the best innovation in each category.

Winners of the 6th CEE Logistics & Supply Chain Management Excellence Award in 2018

In the solution provider category Arviem– based in Switzerland – received the recognition for its cargo-handling solution. The tool does not only allow real-time tracking during transits but is also complemented by numerous additional reporting services, such as product quality assurance by monitoring, opportunity for optimisation of supply chain processes, improved planning efficiency using dynamic ETA, data-based business intelligence for strategic decision making, improved carbon footprint measurements reporting and data availability enabling insurance cost reduction. The results obtained by the exploration of the “dark spots” of the supply chain, and the possibility of immediate corrective measures have made a significant contribution towards achieving better design efficiency.

In the industry category Knorr-Bremse-a specialist in the modern brake system for railway and commercial vehicles-won the award for developing successful supply chain processes and methodologies optimising production and country-to-country relocations. Between 2014 -2017, 95 projects were relocated and the significant achievement was the smooth transition of processes that are beneficial for both the suppliers, the production location and the customers.
