The Largest Logistics Center In Croatia Officially Opened
With a ceremonial ribbon cutting, RC Zone Samobor logistics complex was officially opened yesterday in the Bobovica economic zone near Samobor. This marked the completion of the project’s first phase – 43,000 m2 of modern warehouse space has been commissioned, fully leased to tenants and ready for operations.
The project is part of one of the largest greenfield investments in Croatian logistics, worth €100 million, developed by the Czech investment group RC Europe. Alongside the opening of the first phase, construction on the second half of the facility is already underway. Upon completion, RC Zone Samobor will cover a total of 86,000 m², making it the largest logistics and distribution center in Croatia.
This debut investment by RC Europe in Croatia has already drawn renowned logistics and distribution tenants such as DB Schenker, Milšped, Logaritam, Commel Zagreb, with dm-drogerie markt being the latest to join the center.
The event began with a short video presentation of the project, followed by speeches from RC Europe’s co-owners, Croatian officials, and the Czech Ambassador.
RC Europe co-owners Miloslav Hartman and Jan Prokop thanked all partners, collaborators, and the local community for their support in realizing this strategically significant project.
– A simple ‘thank you’ is in order! Thank you to our team in Croatia, and to the Mayor of Samobor. We’ve been preparing this site for eight years,” said Hartman in Croatian.
Prokop added:
– I hope we’ll see each other again next year for the opening of the second phase of this logistics park.”
Mayor Petra Škrobot expressed her pride and satisfaction in having such a major project realized in Samobor.
– Thank you to the whole team for choosing Samobor for such an important development. This is only the beginning of our cooperation. As mentioned, more phases are coming. We’re excited and fully supportive, as Samobor has a long-standing tradition in entrepreneurship and craftsmanship – she said.
