Croatia’s TZV Gredelj in 2 bln euro deal with Austria’s Innofreight

A memorandum of understanding, with a contract worth two billion euros between Tatravagónka, Budamar Logistics and Innofreight, guarantees safe and high-quality production of InnoWaggons for the next ten years. The memorandum was signed at TZV Gredelj, Croatia, in the presence of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

In the future, around 1,000 InnoWaggons will be produced per year in the Croatian halls. This means the completion of three to four wagons a day. Modern, highly automated and continued top quality will prevent downtime and enable independence from external suppliers.

Tradition that endures

Together with the Slovakian wagon manufacturer Tatravagónka and the Slovakian logistics company Budamar Logistics, three renowned companies have joined forces to supply InnoWaggons from Croatia to the rest of Europe in the next few years.

Around 400 people are currently employed at TZV Gredelj, with an additional 600 to be recruited, which guarantees the highest level of production all year round. This is a sustainable development that guarantees Innofreight production reliability. At the same time, the Croatian economy is being strengthened and jobs are being created, as Prime Minister Plenković emphasizes.

In addition to the Prime Minister, the Croatian Minister of Transport, Oleg Butković, and the Minister of Economy, Tomislav Ćorić, were also on site. Peter Wanek-Pusset, owner of Innofreight, Ľubomír Loy, COO of the Budamar Group, and Ivan Petriček, co-owner of Tatravagónka, jointly signed the memorandum.

Focusing on the big picture

Innofreight has developed dynamically in the 20 years since it was founded, playing a key role in shaping the innovation process in rail freight transport and constantly focusing on the benefits for customers.

The step towards our own wagon production makes it possible to continue along this path in the future and to supply companies with high-quality and affordable InnoWaggons.
