Germany truck bans: BGL alternative route map 2022

The latest version of Germany’s truck bans map, produced by the BGL and the country’s motorways authority, has been published.

The BGL alternative route map gives truck drivers who drive on Saturdays in July and August a quick overview of which routes are affected by the holiday driving ban and which alternative routes exist.

According to the Holiday Travel Ordinance, in the months of July and August in Germany on all Saturdays (from 02.07.2022 up to and including 27.08.2022) for solo trucks over 7.5 t GVW, trucks with trailers and articulated lorries in the period from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. there will be an additional driving ban on numerous sections of the motorway and individual federal roads.

The digital alternative route map is integrated into the Autobahn app for the first time this year.
