Denmark’s new year cabotage checks yield fines worth 62,500 euros

Denmark’s first cabotage inspections of the year yielded up to 62,500 euros-worth of fines in just three days. Both Danes and foreign nationals were fined during the checks, which were conducted in 7 regions.

According to lastbilmagasinet.dk, fines were handed out not only due to cabotage violations, but also false or missing certificates, plus documentation errors, vehicle defects and unpaid tolls.

On of the largest fines was given to a Danish/Polish company whose 45-year-old driver was arrested for cabotage violations and incomplete documentation. The violations cost the firm 8,800 euros.
