Trucker faces charges after aiming gun at lorry driver while overtaking
A shocking development unfolded on Germany’s A3 motorway last week. According to reports by the German Press Association, a trucker pointed a pistol in the direction of a fellow lorry driver in order to speed up his overtake.
As BR24 reports, seemingly out of impatience, a lorry driver threatened the driver of the truck alongside him with a pistol while overtaking on the autobahn.
The 49-year-old wanted to drive past a truck on the A3 near Parsberg, officers confirmed on Thursday. It is said that as the other truck was driving at almost the same speed, the overtaking maneuver took a long time.
According to the police, once the overtaking lorry driver’s cab was alongside the other lorry’s cab, he picked up a pistol and aimed it at the truck driver in the other lane.
A police patrol was able to stop the gun-bearing trucker afterwards. When searching his cab, officers found the pistol, which was unloaded. The 49-year-old now faces charges, not only for the threat, but also for owning a firearm without a licence.
