Port of Koper: revenue growth and profit at last year’s level
In the first quarter of this year, the Luka Koper Group generated 80.1 million euros in net sales revenue, which is 13 percent more than in the same period last year, despite the drop in throughput. The net profit stopped at 16.5 million euros, which is at the level of 2022 and at the same time two thirds above the planned result.
The Luka Koper Group generated EUR 80.1 million in net sales revenue in the first quarter of this year, which is 13 percent more than in the same period last year, despite the drop in turnover.
– The Luka Koper Group achieved good business results in the first quarter of the year – the company emphasized in the unaudited quarterly report on operations, which was published on the website of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange. The financial indicators thus reach or come close to the achieved indicators of the same period of the previous year, added the manager of the port of Koper. The year 2022 was a record year for Luka in many respects.
Although the total throughput of just under 5.7 million tons was three percent less than in the first three months of 2022 and five percent below plans, net sales revenues of 80.1 million euros were ten percent higher than planned. compared to the same period last year, they increased by 13 percent.
According to Luka’s explanations, revenues from filling and emptying containers and, to the greatest extent, revenues from storage fees were higher, as a result of higher service prices compared to the same period last year.
Operating profit (EBIT) stood at 19.6 million euros in the first quarter, which is one percent less than the result in the same period last year, but 74 percent above the plan. With the higher net sales revenue achieved, the higher growth in operating costs had a minimal impact on the achieved operating profit, they explained in Luka.
At 16.5 million euros, the net profit was at the same level as in the same period last year, but 68 percent above the plan.
